I’ve been excited for Samantha and Chance’s wedding for a really, really long time….as I’m sure they have! From the moment I had a skype call with Samantha I knew we were going to get along. If you don’t remember their gorgeous engagement session, check it out here!
They had their wedding at the gorgeous Barn III. I hadn’t ever been there before, and it did not disappoint! Their decorations and reception area were just stunning! And it’s a good thing the Barn III also doubles as a theater because their bridal party took up the entire stage! Samantha had 9 bridesmaids and Chance had 9 groomsmen and 2 groomswomen. I told them at their engagement session I didn’t think I even knew that many people! Haha, but at the reception it was very clear that these two are so loved by all their friends and family…but more on that later!
Sam and Chance were married by Chance’s dad. It was so sweet, and as his dad said to Sam, he’s your problem now. 🙂 . I love that in place of a unity candle or sand ceremony, they did a tree planting ceremony. They both had soil from their childhood homes and put soil from that into a new pot for a tree they are going to plant at their home. How cool is that? I don’t know about you, but we had a unity candle ceremony, and that candle sits in a box somewhere in our basement. But it would be so cool to look out the window and see something growing every year reminding you of your wedding day!
I won’t lie…I was slightly nervous about photographing such a big bridal party. That is a lot of people to wrangle and make sure are all where they are supposed to be…but Sam and Chance’s bridal party was honestly one of the nicest bridal parties! I didn’t once have to bring out my “mom voice” to get them to listen! They didn’t complain…even though when I took the guys out earlier in the day it felt like the face of the sun.
The Barn III did not disappoint when it came to providing a gorgeous backdrop for Sam and Chance’s bridal pictures. The rock driveway with trees and white fence were just perfect! These two are naturals when it comes to posing and interacting with each other….so good that when I looked at the time, we were half an hour ahead of what I had set out for their pictures! So we took more….and then Chance said Sam had to sit on the cow for a picture!
When we were headed back to the reception, they told me to be prepared for their bridal party when they did their introductions and they were right! Peep the groomsmans (Sam’s brother) and bridesmaids wardrobe swap! Side note, those two are dating!
The food at the Barn III was amazing! You know it must have been because I never talk about the food at weddings! When it was time for toasts, I was just in awe of what the two best men and two maid of honors had to say about Chance and Sam. I knew just from knowing them from a short amount of time that they were a special couple, and hearing their friends talk about them just made me realize it even more.
Their wedding guests did not disappoint on the dance floor…so much in fact that there wasn’t even room for me to move around the dance floor to take pictures! Haha!
Sam and Chance, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your amazing day! Everyone also keep Chance in your thoughts and prayers as he is being deployed in a few short weeks. He works on helicopters in the Army.
